The 2025 Kids Camp will include:
• Interactive Workshops including fiddle, square dancing, contemporary style and Métis weaving.
• A collaborative art project, with children contributing to a piece which displayed at the festival site.
• A live performance to kick off the Napatāk Ramble Music Festival, showcasing what the children learned—including a musical piece and a square dance presentation.
Artists and Facilitators:
The camp will be facilitated by a variety of artists from both Saskatoon as well as local Indigenous artists from our own Tri-Community.
Music Sessions:
• Sharptail: a duo made up of Mitch Dureault and Aryn Murray out of Saskatoon will be providing a fiddle session for the children.
• Five Guys Named Dave: a five-piece band out of Saskatoon will lead a square dance session.
• A collaboration between the fiddle session and the square dance session will be developed for the final performance that happens during the festival.
Visual Art Sessions:
• Pam Sanderson: a local Métis artist who specializes in Métis finger weaving, will lead the children in making bracelets and sharing her knowledge of Métis weaving and Métis sashes.
• Amber Daigneault: will lead a contemporary weaving activity with the children and create a collaborative piece which is an annual tradition for the Kids Camp.
Camp Details:
Date: Thursday July 3rd, 2025 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Location: Napatāk Ramble Site at Potato Lake.
We are only able to accept the first 40 children who register.
Once you’ve registered, please wait for a confirmation email to confirm your spot. At that time, you will be required to e-transfer $15 to secure your spot.
Once the camp is full, you will receive an email letting you know you have been placed on a wait list.
Kid’s Camp participants will need to bring:
• Appropriate clothing for the weather (please be prepared for clothes to get dirty)
• Extra set of clothing
• Jacket
• Hat
• Water bottle
• Sunscreen
• Bug spray
